The daughter of a fish-seller, this student started pursuing her B.E. in Computer Science with the goal of breaking out of poverty. Her father and brother do not support the family. It is the mother who, with the small sums she earns from selling fish, has managed to eke out a living. The student completed her Class 10 and 12 in government schools and has scored 75%. She said she approached the college nearest to her home as she did not have anyone to guide her about various courses. She is struggling to pay her college fees and found out about Aalayam through a neighbour. During review, we found that the student is eager to do well in her course.
Aalayam have assisted the student for 1st year and we decided to support her 2nd year as well, with a sum of Rs. 25000 towards her fees.
