This student is pursuing his second-year of a diploma course in mechanical engineering at a polytechnic near Villupuram. He did not score very high in Class X but is firm in his resolve to do well in his vocational course as it would help him get a job to support his family. His father, who was working in a Yamaha showroom, passed away in 2018 after a heart attack. Since then, his mother has been working as a domestic help, making about Rs. 6000 per month. The family also gets a pension of Rs. 2,500 after the father's death. The student has a younger brother who has completed Class X and is also looking to enter a diploma course.

The student's mother paid the fees for the first year with a great deal of difficulty. However, they are looking for some support this year. A government school headmaster in Theni has referred the candidate to Aalayam.

After a review, Aalayam has decided to assist the candidate with a sum of Rs. 30,000 towards his course fee.
